Cookies and Cream

I love black glitters - I currently have Wet n Wild Tangled in my Web and LA Girls glitter Uninhibited. Since I only own the two, I thought I'd do a quick comparison, using Kleancolor White as the base.

TIMW is a clear base with black hex glitter, whereas Uninhibited has black micro glitter with black hexes. Once I swatched Uninhibited over white, it instantly reminded me of cookies and cream ice cream ☺

So, it turns out the perfect ingredients for a Cookies and Cream manicure are a base of Kleancolor White with one coat of LA Girls Uninhibited. Mmmmmm.

Happy Friday the 13th!

I'm really looking forward to tonight, we have tickets to see J & Silent Bob Get Old at the old Redford Theater, 4th row center. Should be fun!!!

I wanted my mani for the show to be fun too, so I decided to layer Kleancolor Chunky Holo Bluebell overtop my Midnight Affair gel mani. Look at how amazingly awesome this combo is, there are so many different colors going on in that glitter! Red, yellow, green, blue....everyone should own this color.

Maybelline Express Finish: Merlot Magic + Kleancolor Chunky Holo Poppy

Merlot Magic is an old school Maybelline Express Finish I picked up from the Dollar Tree a couple of years pack. I just love darken reds and this color is awesome, just on the edge of being a vampy color...but not quite.

Than I decided to add one layer of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Poppy overtop to give it a bit more umph....perfect!

Epic Win! HD under 239 Teal Crackle

Warning, this combo is going to make you want to go out and buy Teal Crackle, like today. I started with Milani's HD as a base. HD is a silver, what I like to call a flek holo finish. It's kind of got that China Glaze Kaleidoscope look to it.

and now...love....#239 Teal Crackle. I adore the crackle pattern!

and under the Ikea lamp, you can see the bits of holo from under the Teal. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!

So, this color cracked best out of the 4 Kleancolors I tried. I believe the others kind of buckled instead of cracked because of the humidity. I still need to try Green, Purple and Red, but I'm going to have to wait for milder weather first.

Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud + 240 Blue Crackle

This was the "it" color on MUA a couple of years ago. I remember trying to hunt this puppy down at the time, it was not easy to find ☺

Opulent Cloud is a nice purple-y silver base with a tan flash. I think the purple shows mostly in the bottle, on the nail, it's primarily silver.

Then I decided to try out another Kleancolor crackle, #240 Blue. This one kind of buckled again. I think maybe I didn't wait long enough for the base color to dry or it was the humidity. The Kleancolor crackles seem to be pretty finicky....it does show promise though. I like the contrast of the blue and silver.

OPI Extra-va-vangza + 243 Black Crackle

I really love OPI's glitter polishes, in fact I can't wait for the Muppet collection! I'm gonna be all over that!! Here is Extra-va-vangza from the Burlesque collection. This is an orange toned multi-colored glitter.

And I added Kleancolor black crackle overtop. Shew, when I used brown the other day, I was a bit worried over these, but black seemed to work properly.

I ♥♥♥ wearing glitters/holos under crackles!!!

China Glaze Cowardly Lyin + 242 Brown Crackle

Cowardly Lyin has been sitting in my untrieds for a while. I got it on Sally's clearance around Christmas time, so I thought it was high time I gave it a try.

What an odd color. It's a sheer frosty gold base with gold micro glitter. Not sure I love this one.

So I thought I'd try one of my new Kleancolor crackle polishes in brown. I was going for a kind of giraffe thing...

Well, it's didn't work out so well. It's been H O T in Michigan lately and very humid. I don't think crackles like to work in humidity, cuz like my Cover Girl one earlier, this one just sort of buckled instead of cracked. So far the Kleancolor crackles have not made a good 1st impression with me.

Eeeeww....sorry I made you look at that! ha ha.

Chunky holos over Zoya Blair

Ok, so I had to try the Chunky Holos over a vampy red. I used Revlon Red before, but it's a bright red jelly, but I wanted to see it over a darker red base. I used Black on my ring finger and I think Bluebell on the others. Oops, I forgot which one! LOL. But it goes to show they all look the same over a dark base ☺ Andii commented that I should try layering them over a white or light color, that way the base color comes through. Good idea! I'll have it try it soon.

Look at all those colors!

Here is Blair by itself. It's a nice dark vampy color, but still looks red. I approve!

Lancome Midnight Gleam + chunky holos

Midnight Gleam is one of my pet peeve vampys. Looks black except in direct sunlight. In the sun you get an awesome blue shimmer. So I don't wear this one much....but it's good for layering.

Sunlight = blue shimmer

Shade = black

So, I decided to layer over it. I used Kleancolor Chunky Holo Bluebell except I used Chunky Holo Black on the ring finger. Black is my favorite of the the Chunky Holos, look how awesome it is! I may need a backup!!

Sunlight:

Shade: look at the amazing duchrome!!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo #235 Bluebell

The last Chunky Holo I have is Bluebell. This one is the same as yesterday's Purple, just the base is a blue jelly. Over any color though, they look pretty much the same.

Here's some Chunky Holo spam!

For these next swatches, I used Revlon Red and Navy for the base. All are 2 coats base and 2 coats Chunky Holo overtop:

So, my recommendation is def get Black, but I would only get one of any of the others Poppy, Purple or Bluebell. Overtop other colors, they pretty much look the same. I would not recommend Scarlet if you're looking for a duochrome.

Hope you liked all these ♥ Are you all Kleancolored out? I just got all 7 crackles....I could keep going! ha ha.

Kleancolor Chunky Holo #234 Purple

#234 is a sheer purple base with glitter that flashes red, gold and green....even blue in the bottle. I think the glitter in most of these is the same, it's just the base color that differs. They kind of all look the same over black. Still love them though.

Kleancolor Chunky Holo #236 Black

I hope I'm not boring you with all the Kleancolor's this week. If so, this one will make up for it ☺ I'm excited to show you Black, the most unique of the bunch. Black is a sheer black jelly base loaded with all different sizes of regular and hex glitter that flashes orange, gold and green. You can even see blue on the bottle. I adore this one.

You gotta enlarge this pick so you can see all the colors:

Like the others, this is 2 coats alone and 2 over black:

Kleancolor Chunky Holo #231 Scarlet

Scarlet is a dark red jelly base with glitter that subtlety flashes gold and green. This one is the least noticeable changer of the group....which bummed me out cuz I love dark reds so much. Not bad on it's own, but if you're looking for a flashy duochrome, I wouldn't recommend this one.

This is 2 coats alone and then 2 coats over black:

Kleancolor Chunky Holo #229 Poppy

I just hauled a couple of the Kleancolor Chunky Holos after seeing them posted on The Polishaholic's website. Once I saw them, I knew I had to have 'em. These colors are duochrome glitter in jelly bases, not holographic. Make sure to enlarge the picks ☺

The 1st color here is called Poppy. Poppy is a bright red jelly with glitter that flashes green, red and gold. Here's a bottle shot:

The top 2 coats by itself and on the bottom is 2 coats over black:
