Orly: Winter Wonderland + China Glaze: Party Hearty

So, I orginally bought Winter Wonderland to kill my Frosty lemming. For those of you who have Frosty, what do you think...do I need both?

WW is a pretty white glass flecky color. I was wearing it for about three days and it's held up perfectly. So I decided to add a layer China Glaze Party Hearty overtop to change the look without having to redo an enter mani (lazy!). PH is the coolest Holiday color to come out all year!! It's a mixture of silver, green and red glitter, the red makes me think of holly berries ☺

Finger Paints: Holly Good Time

Ok, it's the day after Thanksgiving, so it's the official kick off of the Christmas season!!!

My first Holiday mani is so amazing; I have a ton of picks for you. This is Finger Paints Holly Good Time, which looks a bit more Thanksgiving-y to me, but hey, I'm not complaining. I used one heavy coat over Orly's Glam Rock and I think those two colors hit it off perfectly.

Holly Good Time is a warm brownish gold micro sized glitter mixed with red glitter. I ADORE this color!!! It's my first Finger Paints and I'm so happy with it.

Look at how awesome this is in the sunlight:

Here's a mega closeup of the glitter:

Yay, can't wait to start using all my Holiday colors!!!
Happy Holidays!!

Turkey Day mani

aka OPI: Ginger Bells. This is from last year's OPI Christmas collection and I love this color. It's more of a harvest/fall color to me, so I thought it would work great for my Thanksgiving mani.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, be safe and eat lots of turkey ♥

Rimmel: Lava Red + SH Star Opal: Rose Gold Opal

Lava Red is another one of those vampys that look cool in the bottle...a brownish color with dark red shimmer....but once on the nail, it looks black. This is 2 coats of Lava Red with one coat of Rose Gold Opal. RGO is very sheer, so you really can't see too much difference.

This is with two coats of Rose Gold Opal. It brings out a purple shade.

It's still kinda boring though, so I may add a layer of glitter or something tomorrow...

Maybelline: Tiger Eyes

This is another great old Maybelline Express Finish called Tiger Eyes. I adore this color, it's a nice warm brownish shade (right up my alley).

This is one coat:

Maybelline: Copper Kettle + Massini: Drama Queen

Maybelline Copper Kettle is an awesome color and I wish I would have gotten a backup when it was all over the Dollar Tree last year. Sigh. But it's an amazing, well coppery color (real original description, huh) and it screams harvest and fall to me.

Now, of course, I had to layer over it. I was going for the gradient look adding a layer of Massini's Drama Queen, but I have no patience for dry time, so it didn't "gradient" very well. Still, I like the color combo.

Rimmel: Purple Rain + Milani: Purple Outline

Rimmel's Purple Rain is a dark purple jelly. After two coats it looked black. Now, I love me a good vampy, but what's with all these new ones looking black? I mean whats the point of wearing them if you can't tell it's supposed to purple or red?

Ok, I feel better now, sorry for the rant there! But anyways, I wanted to add something to it to bright it up a bit. So, I added a layer of the Milani striper Purple Outline overtop. PO is a bright purple glitter with sparse amounts of blue mixed in. Now, in my opinion, Purple Outline should have been named Purple Rain because it's definitely a Prince purple!

Check out the bottle pick:

and here it is on the nail:

Sally Hansen Extreme Wear: Blue Icing

Today's color is Blue Icing, and it comes from the same set as Mystic Lilac. It's a light ice blue color mixed with sparce amounts of holo glitter and holo bar glitter.

This is three coats without top coat. Unfortunately, the glitter doesn't show well and the texture is a bit bumpy.

So it jazz it up a bit without changing the color, I added one very thin coat of Cover Girl City Lights to it and topped it off with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails topcoat.

I love me some holo!

Orly: Glam Rock

This color is an all time favorite of mine, it's Orly's Glam Rock. GR is a warm toned gold color with a metallic matte finish. I previously swatched it here; but this color is another one that screams FALL to me so I wanted to revisit it.

Sunlight:

So pretty! So I think I need more Orly's. Can anyone suggest a good color?

Sally Hansen Extreme Wear: Mystic Lilac

Mystic Lilac is a light gray color with a greenish blue shimmer to it. It kinda reminds me of storm clouds.

The bottle pick really shows off the green to the shimmer, but on the nail, it does look a bit bluer. You can click each pick for a closeup.

Nubar Moodie: Red/Orange Sparkle

This is on old Nubar Moodie color that doesn't change anymore. It was supposed to change from red to orange, but now it's kinda a mixture of both colors mixed with silver glitter.

Kinda a cool fall-ish color. This one was given to me by my bf Shmoopy ♥ and its been sitting untried for many months. I'm glad I finally got around to wearing it ☺

Avon: Wicked + Massini: Fall Promo Shade

So, I was trying to go for a Thanksgiving/Fall look today, so I started with one coat of Avon's Wicked, which is basically black unless in direct sunlight, then you see some brown shimmer. Over top I added one thin coat of Massini's Fall Promo Shade, which is basically Color Club's Wild and Willing.

You can see alot of the green duochrome in this pick.

Head one, it's an orange-y brownish color. The finish to it reminds me of Orly's Space Cadet - kindy of that metallic foil-y texture.

Massini or as it's known today, Studio M is a Meijer brand knock off of Color Club. Last year, they released the entire Wild at Heart collection, but on each bottle listed the color as Fall Promo Shade.

China Glaze: Christmas Color preview

Ok, so I know in my last post I said I wasn't ready for Christmas mani's yet....but I just got some of the new CG colors from Sally's and I HAD to try them out. So I figured I'd do a little swatching preview....

I added 2 layers of Mistletoe Kisses over my Zombie Zest mani (hee hee, there's just something wrong about that combo!!). MK, the bottle color is a green with silver glitter, reminds me of a green version of Dorothy Who or Ruby Pumps, but the glitter is definitely silver:

And I just had to add 2 coats of Party Hearty over it. PH is the absolutely coolest holiday color ever! The bottle color has a mixture of silver and green micro glitter with larger red hex glitter...it's so mistletoe-y. This color is so hot, I just had to show you two pictures.

Sorry, I promise not to jump holidays like that again, I just couldn't resist. I'm gonna have to think of some ideas for Thanksgiving manis.....
