SpectraFlair holo frankens

So I thought it would be nice to showcase all of my SpectraFlair frankens in one post. I know I've been SF crazy for a while, so I promise I'll give it a rest for a bit after this.

This is my holo topcoat franken I named Starshine:

A W E S O M E over black!

Here is my black holo named Black Cat:

This is my un-named blue franken from the other day:

and these I haven't posted yet. This is a dark purple color, bordering on blurple. It shows much lighter in the swatch then IRL. I haven't named this one yet:

and lastly my attempt at a red franken. It's a bit too pink for me, so I may play with it a bit. I like how the holo effect shows blue in this one. This is also un-named so far:

and that's all of 'em for now. I have one bottle with clear and some pigment in it waiting for me to be inspired. This was all made with only one gram of pigment, and I still have more left in the bag, probably 2 or more frankens worth. I wonder if I should be added a bit more pigment to some of them?

Thanks for looking!

Nubar Shock Nail Wheel

There's this great little dusty shop that has a bunch of the old Nubar Shocks and Spells, and I've been slowly acquiring them whenever I'm on that side of town. This is my collection of Shock colors. I believe you can still find all of these colors in their current lineup with the exception of Sea Green.

China Glaze Fortune Teller + Starshine franken

Starshine, you used to be silver, love light love affair, you used to make me shiver........ah, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

First off, I couldn't wait to any longer to use a Halloween background. I know it's early, but I'm just feeling the season lately. I promise I'll wait until closer to October to full on decorate for Halloween. ha ha. But in that spirit, today's NOTD is Fortune Teller from China Glaze. FT was a Sally's exclusive color from a couple of years ago. This is such a brilliant color, a black base with regular and hex orange glitter mixed in. So appropite for the season and it's got a cool name too ♥

Here's a good view of the glitter, make sure to enlarge:

and finally, my holo topcoat franken that I've named Starshine. The recipe is easy, it's just SpectraFlair pigment mixed in clear nail polish. Unfortunately, it's not a great combo with Fortune Teller because it covers up the orange glitter. Still, you can see how cool it looks over black.

Holo Franken: ??

Hmm, I think this is a franken in progress. It's still a bit too light for me, I think I want a darker blue, kind of like OPI DS Glamour....so I'm giving myself an excuse for not naming it yet! LOL.

I used Chelsea's Oscar Blue, clear and SpectraFlair pigment. What do you think, should I leave it or tweak it a bit?

Holo Franken: Black Cat

So is anybody else in the Halloween spirit? I can't wait for September so I can start decorating!!! ha ha. I just got in my SpectraFlair pigment and the 1st holo I wanted to make is a black (ala My Private Jet). I was trying to come up with a cute name for it....I'm lousy at franken names....so I decided it give it a Halloween touch and name it Black Cat.

I used Wet and Wild Black Creme, clear and SpectraFlair.

It's so holo-y!!

I'm very pleased with the results. For great SpectraFlair frankening tips, please visit More Nail Polish. I used her straw technique and instructions at the bottom of the post.

OPI Wheel #1

This wheel includes one of my favorite holiday collections ever, the 2009 collection. Merry Midnight, Smitten with Mittens and Ginger Bell are favorites.

last year's Ulta holiday exclusives:

Ginger Bells is one of my favorites. I wish I would have gotten a backup!

Glittah

I got Keys to my Karma and Vodka and Cavaier for my Clarins 230 franken. I don't think I've ever worn either on its own.

Movin Out is a beautiful duo chrome

Nfu Oh #61

I just ordered some SpectraFlair holo pigment and I just can't wait for it to arrive so I can start playing! My 1st franken will be to attempt to make a batch of Fashion Polish's Moonstone Franken top coat. Wow!

All the SpectraFlair talk lately has put me in a holo mood....and what better way to celebrate a holo mood than with Nfu Oh's. I like #61 because it's base is a very pale pink base and a bit warmer than a straight silver holo. I think it looks a bit better with my skintone.

Ozotic Nail Wheel

I love my Ozotics and I cannot wait to get more. I'm so glad I found piCture pOlish! My collection is small, but I know I want to get more. Does anyone who knows their Ozotics want to suggest a couple of colors for my next purchase?

Please make sure to enlarge the picks!

So the reason I even wanted to grab Ozotics was for 518, a true beautiful red holo. 518 and 513 are just dazzling in the sunlight or under a lamp.

The glitter in 503 flashes gold, green and fuchsia, but it is so hard to capture all the colors on camera. Same with Rainforest. The 1st is Rainforest by itself and the one next to it is layered over black. It's quire sheer and really should be layered. It flashes green, blue and a tanish color.

Look at the stunning holo effect on 518 and 513...wow, huh? This is under my Ikea lamp.

Essie Nail Wheel

I'm relatively new to Essie, so I only really have a few colors. My general opinion of them if that most colors are either blah boring or super vampy black.

Here are my colors, make sure to click to enlarge the picks:

Dive Bar is a nice basically black color with blue shimmer. Pretty in the sun, but it falls into my looks black pet peeve. Ruby Slipper, well, what can I say? It's red and glitter, so I love it! LOL.

I got One Day Without Blues from the Facebook giveaway, I think it was last fall. The other three I got at Ulta's B2G1 sale. I do love Going Incognito! I wore that sucker for a week and never tired of it.

Hope you all liked the short Essie spam 8-)

Sally Hansen Prisms Wheel

Man, I wish I had more Prisms. When I first started collecting about 2yrs ago, I found all but one of these at the Dollar Tree. There were a ton more, but I just didn't know any better at the time. I was all about holos, so I only two 2 packs. Sigh. And I've never seen them since. I bought Golden Tourmaline, Turquoise Opal and Garnet Lapis on eBay.

Here are the colors. The holos are kind of sheer, so I layered them over black too. Make sure to click the picks to enlarge them:

Golden Tourmaline over black looks pretty close to Glitter Gal Red and Ozotic 518. So if anyone is looking for a bargain red holo, this is it:

I love me some duochromes!

If anyone is interested, I did some Popsicle stick swatches of these colors before, this is Turquoise Opal and the rest are here.
