Edit: 2-28-11
STILL waiting for the sun to appear at a time when i can take pictures. I tried using my OTT light, but it just doesn't want to pick up the colors. Here's the best pick I could get w/artificial light:
and a couple of bottle picks:
Unfortunately, I don't think the Colorama is condensed enough to do a proper 230 dupe. But I'm going to reserve final judgment until I can get good sunlight picks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, earlier I hinted I had a cool franken coming up....well, when I hit Colorama jackpot the other weekend, I was able to score a bottle of #40 Frosty Pink. FP has the same color shifting pigment found in Clarins 230.
I'm going to do a full post later this week, I want to wait until I get some sunlight to take proper photos, but here's a quick bottle pick.
Hee!

Catherine Arley holo week!
I ordered my CA's from BeautyCosmetic.Biz. Now before you go running off and buying them all, I feel I have to say - do an MUA board search first. Although all of my polishes have arrived safely, not everyone who ordered was so lucky.
Each polish was packed in a Catherine Arley box which was packed in a larger box. One my the bottles what was packed upside down did get chipped and the other had some polish leak out around the rim, but both weren't that bad.
All this week, I'll be posting my Catherine Arley holo swatches (in numerical order). All of the polishes have numbers instead of names.
First up is #667. This is the one that was chipped during shipping. This color has one of the strong holo effects of the entire bunch. 667 is a gray holo.
This is daylight, but no sun:
#669 is a light champagne color:
and no-sun daylight:

Colorama Spam pt 2
This color is #115 Cool Blues. What a pretty color! It's very sheer, but I still think it's so cute on it's own. I haven't tried layering it yet...
This one is #107 Turquoise Seas...
so, let's put it to the test, here are real turquoise seas....
Pretty close! ha ha.
This last color is #109 Glass Slipper
Seeing my cruise pick makes me want to take a tropical vacation again...sigh.

China Glaze Grape Pop
I just got Grape Pop in the mail today; it's not my typical color, but very pretty. I think I may need to wear more purples this year.
I actually ordered it because it is one of the ingredients needed for a very special franken I have coming up later this week (just waiting on one more package). Can anyone guess what it may be? I'm dying to spill, but I'm going to be good and wait until I'm finished with it to tell you about it ☺

Colarama Spam: Part 1
These four are some of the top coats, each color is one coat over WnW Nocturnal:
1st one is called Lemon Twist. This one didnt' have a number, next is #24 Gold Wash, #35 Cold as Ice and #45 Blazes of Blue.
The next color is #190 Gold Lights:
This is #108 Blueberry Surprise
#120 Lilac Freeze over Blueberry Surprise:
There are some fun shades in the Colorama family ☺ These were packaged in three's. What's nice about that is that I'd occasionally get a color that I wouldn't have normally picked out...it makes me try new things ☺
I'll have more Colorama's later this week.

Franken: Essie Starry Starry Night
So, today I was decided to try and franken Essie's Starry Starry Night (which is a blue jelly base with silver glitter). I used WnW Nocturnal and Art Deco Silver Glitter, mixing in a bit of Sally Hansen clear.
Here is my result:
I think it's a pretty good attempt. The original I think is more jelly, the silver glitter shows through more. I'm not sure if I should keep playing with it or leave it alone. What do you think?

Colorama top coat Blazes of Crystal
Score! I found Colorama's at Big Lot! I can't believe it, I've been looking for Colorama's forever and have NEVER seen them anywhere before. The few I own I had to buy from eBay.
This color has to be one of the coolest flakies I've ever seen...the flakies are mulitcolored....like 2 shades of blue, there's some gold, red, green....this is just too cool.
Here is one coat over one coat of Wet and Wild Black Creme:

Scary!!! Naked Nails
I've never posted naked nails before...and technically these aren't naked. I'm using my new favorite base coat, Orly's Nail Armor. NA is described as "Liquid Nail Wrap with Ridgefiller". It contains little tiny silk fibers that are supposed to help strengthen nails. So far, so good. This is only one coat.

Revlon Perplex + Cover Girl City Lights
I ♥♥♥ Perplex. It's definitely in my all time top 10 favs. And another color in my all time top 10 is Cover Girl City Lights. CL is a holo glitter top coat that dries smooth and can dress up any color.
I used the tape method for the accent finger:
I adore the shimmer in Perplex:
I love it!
