Let it Snow(men) pt 2

Ah, I've saved some of the best for last here. This Snowman is a blue foil color that I found at Rite Aid. It can be a one coater if you apply carefully, excellent coverage on this one and amazing pretty:

Here's a good closeup:

The base color on this one is clear mixed with red micro glitter:

It's a bit too shear to wear on it's own, which surprised me. Looking at the bottle, I thought it would be like Ruby Pumps..but not so much. Still nice though, so I of course layered it over Femme Noir:

And my last snowman is a clear base mixed with regular sized silver holo glitter:

This one can be worn in it's own if you layer up enough (make sure to use the foil method to remove it), but it's also sheer enough to layer over another color....yes, Femme Noir again ☺ It's a chunky glitter, so you'll want to wear a top coat. I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails for this swatch.

Well, that's it' for my snowmen. They're so festive, yay Christmas!!

Let it Snow(men) pt 1

Aren't the little guys cute? You can find them at Meijer and Rite Aid. They don't come with names, each bottle is labeled "Snowman".

This first color is a neon pink base mixed with holo micro glitter. Like most neons, it dries matte, so you'll need a top coat. I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails on this swatch since it's not supposed to dull holos as much.

Next one is a simple mint green cream. Cute, but I think if I were to wear it, I may want to Konad over it or something to jazz it up a bit:

and this last guy is a red jelly base mixed with regular sized holo glitter:

Here it is by itself and layered over Femme Noir. I was of course most excited about this one...I mean, red holo? That's right up my alley. But it's too sheer on it's own, it's definitely a layering polish:

I really like it over Femme Noir. I've come to find that FN is a nice base for layering!

Zoya Spoons

So, did anyone order their 6 free Zoya spoons yesterday? I think I got in at the last minute, the code was supposed to be good for Friday only, but I was still able to order them yesterday morning. Here's what I chose (I went for glitters):

Tiffany

Salma

Gabrielle

Edyta

Delillah

Charla

I wanted to order my namesake spoon, Michelle:

But blach, it's like hot pink...bummer! Why couldn't I be a cool blacked red or duochrome? Maybe they'll do a Shelly or Shel one day. A nickname is better than nothing ☺ I've never ordered the spoons before, so I'll be curious to see them when they get here.

Revlon: Perplex

I'm sure you've all heard of Perplex recently, it's Revlon's version of Chanel's Paradoxal. I had been hunting my CVS' for this sucker for a couple of weeks, but finally fount it at Ulta.

Perplex is a taupy purple color with purple shimmer:

So cute!

Nichole by OPI: Spark my Mistletoe

Today, I have another kick @ss red to show you. This is Spark my Mistletoe. The bottle color is a clear base with red microglitter and I guess micro hex glitter. The hexes are quite small, but larger than the red glitter.

Here is the bottle:

And on the left is the color solo. Nice! And then layered over Femme Noir, which is a dark blacked red color:

This is so pretty! Although, I wanted to try it layered over a green....I was going for the holly look. I layered it over China Glaze Jolly Holly, and here was the result:

Yeah, that didn't exactly work out....yuck! What a mess.

Comparison: Frosty vs Winter Wonderland

I originally bought Winter Wonderland at Sally's because I had seen swatches of Frosty and thought it would kill my lemming. I should have known better! LOL. They are not as close as I had hoped.

Frosty is more of a white color with a kind of glass fleck to it and Winter Wonderland leans more toward silver and is chalk full of glass flecks.

Here is a bottle pick of both:

Once you see the two together, you can really see the difference:

I think I prefer Frosty, but they're a close tie. Don't forget to click on the picks for a larger view.

Barielle: Elle's Spell

What this? Red flakies? What's not to love! Elle's Spell is just that! Check out the bottle pick:

and here we have it by itself, layered over Revlon's Ruby and my favorite, Femme Noir:

Here's an awesome Femme Noir closeup for you....so amazing!

Loreal: Femme Noir

I just picked this baby up from Ulta. I had heard about on MUA, but hadn't seen any swatches. It's definitely one of those vampy colors that appear black in normal light and you only see the goodness in sun or bright light....one of my biggest pet peeves....but it's so pretty, I forgive it. I just had to have it, and well, I'm a sucker for blacked reds...

Take a look:

Can you see the shimmer? I adore it.

China Glaze: Mrs Claus

Mrs Claus is a pinkish red jelly with square silver glitter. I'm not really a lover of pinks, but I do like this one...I really love the look of a jelly base with glitter in it (Ruby Pumps, Dorothy Who, etc). I got this one at Sally's in one of those gift sets, so I don't think I would have picked it up otherwise, but I'm glad I have it now.

Here are some picks:
