Sally Hansen Opals Wheel

I was lucky enough to find all my Opals last year at the Dollar Tree. I'm missing 08: Violet Opal, but other than that, I think I have a full set of them. The Opals are very sheer and are meant for layering. Each color on the wheel is layered over Black. Most of these are untried (yikes) and I listed some of my favorites:

Crystal Opal is a great duochrome, it flashes purple and green:


Pale Pink Opal flashes pink and blue. I love how Red Opal is actually green! LOL:


Earthen Opal is red and purple - so cool:


Flame Opal is another red/purple combo, but not as dramatic as Earthen Opal:

Massini / Studio M Nail Wheel

I've been in a nail wheel swatching mode lately, so I thought I'd post a bunch of 'em in the next week. The first wheel is my Massini / Studio M colors. As many of you know Massini is only available at Meijer stores and is the same as Color Club. There are a couple of colors unique to Massini, but most of the colors are the same as CC's and even carry the same name.

Oops, I just realized I labeled one wrong. The glitter on the left is actually Drama Queen, not Magic Attraction. Sorry! Make sure to click the picks to enlarge them:


Here are some closeups, I labeled Drama Queen correctly in this one ☺


I think Flair and Frosted Kiss are unique to Massini. I Googled them under Color Club and couldn't find any matches. Also, the colors from the Wild and Willing collection were labeled on the bottle as only "Fall Promo Shade".




Slamming Red and Purple Medallion are both unique to Massini and are just brilliant in the sunlight:

All of these glitters are top coat hogs, so I added a coat of Gelous 1st and two of a regular top coat afterwards. Hope you all liked the wheel today ♥

Nubar Wildlife

I obtained Wildlife when my BF Shmoopy did her last purge, so I have to shout out a thanks to my Shmop! WL if a duochrome, the base is an olive green color and it flashes pink. I know you're thinking green and pink? Who thought of that combo, right? But the colors actually work together nicely. That being said, it's still not my favorite Nubar.

This is also the only Nubar I have with the new bottles. The other others I have are the Shocks and one Magical and they have the old square bottle.

You know, now that I look at this color, it's like the reverse version of Nubar's Olive spice. Check out the swatch in this post.

Un-Named Tropical Manicure color

1st I just wanted to say sorry for all the color changes lately. I'm going through a little blog identity crisis. I felt the need to change the gray patterned background I had and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. I like the red though....

Today's color is an un-named Tropical Manicure that I picked up at a local nail supply store. The color is best described as a frosty teal. You can see brush strokes, but they're not too bad. It applies much lighter then the bottle color, so I was disappointed in this one. It's not really that sheer, so I don't know if layering it over a darker color would help or not.

Freshcover: Starry Night

I found this brand, Freshcover, at a Nail Supply Store. They had a large display and some of the colors caught my eye. This is called Starry Night. It's a black base with gold-ish / green glass flecks. Definitely an interesting color! It looks mostly black unless in direct sunlight (like these picks), but even though that's a pet peeve of mine, I don't really mind it too much. The color is unique enough to get a pass ☺

Sally Hansen Crackle: Antiqued Gold

What a great crackle color!! I only picked up this one from the SH crackle line and wow, I'm impressed. I started with yesterday's mani. I wore it for a couple of days and was just starting to get some tipwear.


and I added one heavy coat of Antiqued Gold overtop:


AG is a gold foil finish, pretty unique for a crackle polish. I really love the combo of gold / deep red. So pretty!!

Maybelline Salon Experts: Punked Purple

Punked Plum is my current mani and I think I've found the perfect vampy for me! It's a nice dark color, but you can totally tell it's a maroon and not black. I love it! It's got a nice glass fleck finish to it too. I recently pulled out a ton of colors in prep for my 1st purge and this was one of the colors on the chopping block. I'm so glad I gave it a try. It was untried, I got it in a dual pack from the DT a while ago.

Chelsea Kiwi Sprakle

So I picked up Kiwi Sparkle the other week because it looked like the perfect summer green....unfortunately I wasn't in love with it. I don't think the green was very flattering with my skin tone, but I have to say, I wore it for a couple of days and got a lot of compliments on it. I think I may try to layer it over a darker color before I give up on it.

Tropical Manicure #55

As you may know, I'm just not happy unless my nails sparkle. So I added a layer of Tropical Manicure's holo bar glitter to it. It doesn't have a name on it other than the number 55 on top of the cap.

I really did like DVD by itself, but I'm just a glitter junkie. I couldn't help myself! I didn't end up wearing this mani though. I wasn't too fond of the bar glitter overtop. Here are some picks:
