Coupla Prevail Comparisons

So the first two I'm comparing are Massini (Color Club) Fashion Addict with Prevail Concrete Jungle. Both are pale pink scattered holos and looking at the picks are pretty dead on dupes for each other. I know my middle finger looks a bit more pink than the others, but believe, me when wearing them, you can't tell the difference at all.

Next up we have Color Club Revvvolution and Prevail Glitz and Glamour. These two are pretty darn close to identical too. Prevail's color is a bit more black than the Color Club, but I only used two coats. I bet at three you wouldn't be able to tell any difference. Just like the two pinks, when wearing them, you really can't see a difference between the two.

So I'd say the two different sets are definitely dupes of each other, the Prevail's are a bit more pigmented, but you can really only see the difference in photos. When worn on the nail, they look identical.

China Glaze Luxe and Lush

When I first saw Luxe and Lush in person, I thought it was a dupe to Color Club's Covered in Diamonds, but although they're similar, they are definitely different. Both are chunky flakies in a clear base. What do I mean by chunky? Most flakie polishes are smooth, but the flakes in "chunky flakie" polishes are irregular shapes that do not lay flat on the nail. Some examples of other chunky flakies would be the NYX avenue or Sinful Ocean polishes.

The primary differences between CID and L&L is that CID has larger flakes and flashes more colors; blue, green and gold. L&L has smaller flakes and flashes gold and green. Here are the two together:
Here is Luxe and Lush by itself. This is layered over my current Gel mani.

Cookies and Cream

I love black glitters - I currently have Wet n Wild Tangled in my Web and LA Girls glitter Uninhibited. Since I only own the two, I thought I'd do a quick comparison, using Kleancolor White as the base.

TIMW is a clear base with black hex glitter, whereas Uninhibited has black micro glitter with black hexes. Once I swatched Uninhibited over white, it instantly reminded me of cookies and cream ice cream ☺

So, it turns out the perfect ingredients for a Cookies and Cream manicure are a base of Kleancolor White with one coat of LA Girls Uninhibited. Mmmmmm.

Comparisons: Nabi Wine and Black Berry

I ordered Wine, Black and Dark Wine online, but was lucky enough to find a display at Walgreen before my package arrived. I got Black Berry, Dark Gold and Dark Purple at Walgreen. When I got my package in, I realized that two colors looked pretty similar - Wine and Black Berry. Well, after seeing both side by side, I'd say they're pretty much dupes of each other. Check it out:

Wet n Wild Fastdry: Behind Closed Doors

What an awesome name for a Halloween polish, it makes me think of a horror movie. Behind Closed Doors is from the elusive On the Prowl collection. This is a (nice and cheap!) dupe to Deborah Lippmann's Ruby Red Slippers, so if you can actually find it, it's a good color to grab.

Mine had a wonky brush:

This is one coat over yesterday's Trick or Treat mani:

Look at the awesome mix of red and iridescent glitter from both polishes. I love this combo:

Gold Glitter Comparison

So, I was organizing my stash tonight and thought these colors deserved a comparison. They are all gold glitters with reds mixed in.

If you click on the pick, you'll get a super-sized closeup.

They're all quite similar. Magical is pretty sparse, so I don't think you'd be able to wear it by itself. The other two are similar, but Gold Glitz is a much warmer shade than Gift of Gold. I just love all these warm golds. I'm going to hit Ulta tomorrow in the hopes that I can find a full sized Gift of Gold on clearance, wish me luck!

Thanks for looking!

Update: I was able to grab the last bottle of Gift of Gold at Ulta today for $4.99 clearance (full sized). I found it on accident, it was mixed in with some drugstore polishes. I also got the green glitter from the Burlesque collection, I don't remember the name. Other than that, Ulta was already wiped out of clearance polishes, but at least I got the one I was looking for. Yay!

Comparison: Frosty vs Winter Wonderland

I originally bought Winter Wonderland at Sally's because I had seen swatches of Frosty and thought it would kill my lemming. I should have known better! LOL. They are not as close as I had hoped.

Frosty is more of a white color with a kind of glass fleck to it and Winter Wonderland leans more toward silver and is chalk full of glass flecks.

Here is a bottle pick of both:

Once you see the two together, you can really see the difference:

I think I prefer Frosty, but they're a close tie. Don't forget to click on the picks for a larger view.

Quick Comparison: Night Prowl vs Mummy May I

So, I when I put on Mummy May I the other day, I instantly thought of Wet n Wild's Night Prowl....blackish base, purple glitter, they seemed similar....that is until I saw the bottles next to each other. WNW is a black base with purple micro glitter. MMI is a dark purple base (looks black though) with sparser and larger fuchsia-purple glitter.

Here they are next to each other......
