Time to Celebrate!

So, my 1st of many mani's this week is LA Girls Glitter in Celebrate. I thought the name fitting since it's my week off and I'm in a great mood about it! LOL. Celebrate is a mixture of red, blue and silver micro glitters and hexes. This is overtop Avon Midnight Plum.

I never know when to quit.....

....yeah, I just can't seem to leave a color alone anymore. I have to add glitter to everything I wear lately. I'm a glitteraholic! I added one coat of Milani's Twinkle to my Avon Vivid Violet manicure..and the colors actually look pretty ok together. I think I only wore my VV mani for about 10 minutes before I added Twinkle to it.

Vacation time

Vacation time!!! Today is the 1st of 10 days off. We'll be taking a trip to Columbus, Ohio to go to the Origins Game Fair convention. I really wanted to do my nails up like dice, but I don't have a dotting tool...how do I not have a dotting tool yet?? ha ha. While we're in the area we're going to visit the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.




Today, I have another Avon color to show off. Vivid Violet is a medium purple shimmer. I tend to choose vampy or earthy colors, so this is a nice switch up for me. Unlike the photo, today is dark and rainy.

Avon: Olive Green

The Avon color Olive Green makes me think of fresh cut grass - it's the perfect shade of mossy green....very earthy and even though it's not really a "vampy" color, it's still right up my alley. I don't think Avon makes this color anymore, which is a total shame. The formula is perfect and I think it's a pretty unique shade of green.

Avon Gunmetal

I saved my favorite Avon for last. Gunmetal is the perfect smokey gray....nice and dark, but not black. My only issue is that after it dried, it bubbled on me.

Avon Night Violet

Ok, so even though I'm adding brighter colors here and there, I still adore my vampys. This one is right on the edge of being almost too dark, but it does a good job of staying purple.

Avan Vivid Violet

Here's another great shimmer polish from Avon. Like Blue Shock, I'm attempting to add a bit more color into my collection. I love my vampys though, but these two were a nice change.

Avon Blue Shock

I just hauled a couple of Avon polishes and Blue Shock is one of them. It's a nice intense blue, but not too "in your face". I really like it!

A nice change of pace

So, I decided to take a break away from my usual vampy colors and go for something springy....why not mint green? This is Avon Teal Waters. I don't wear it much, it's a mint green frost:


Not bad, but for some reason this color always wants to bubble on me...so I added a layer of Maybelline Express Finish in Shooting Stars. I really like the two together:

Avon: Wicked + Massini: Fall Promo Shade

So, I was trying to go for a Thanksgiving/Fall look today, so I started with one coat of Avon's Wicked, which is basically black unless in direct sunlight, then you see some brown shimmer. Over top I added one thin coat of Massini's Fall Promo Shade, which is basically Color Club's Wild and Willing.

You can see alot of the green duochrome in this pick.



Head one, it's an orange-y brownish color. The finish to it reminds me of Orly's Space Cadet - kindy of that metallic foil-y texture.





Massini or as it's known today, Studio M is a Meijer brand knock off of Color Club. Last year, they released the entire Wild at Heart collection, but on each bottle listed the color as Fall Promo Shade.

Halloween Nails - Candy Corn

I've wanted to do Candy Corn nails ever since I saw someone on MUA do them last year ☺ I used Cover Girl Boundless Color in Candy Corn (ha!), Wet n Wild White Creme and Avon Nailwear Pro in Sunshine; I used tape as the guides.

Avon Nailware Pro polishes

Today I have a bunch of new Avon shades. This first one is called Deluxe Chocolate; a medium brown color with gold shimmer:



This is Tweed; a dark blackened burgundy jelly; very vampy:


Olive Green is the perfect chalkboard green color:


Cherry Jubilee is another jelly, a deep pinkish red:

Now this one is called Wicked and the color I was most excited for it. Unfortunately, it looks completely black unless in direct sunlight:


I may need to franken it to try and lighten it up a bit. The last color here is called Midnight Plum; which is a dark purple jelly:


Like Wicked, it also looks completely black except in direct sunlight, and even in sunlight it seems mostly black.

All in all, I liked the formula on these, just some of the colors where much darker than I expected. Usually, that's not a bad thing, but these are on the verge of black, which is a bit too dark for me.
