Chelsea Kiwi Sprakle

So I picked up Kiwi Sparkle the other week because it looked like the perfect summer green....unfortunately I wasn't in love with it. I don't think the green was very flattering with my skin tone, but I have to say, I wore it for a couple of days and got a lot of compliments on it. I think I may try to layer it over a darker color before I give up on it.

Here it is in sunlight:

What do you think of the color? Win or fail?

Tropical Manicure #55

As you may know, I'm just not happy unless my nails sparkle. So I added a layer of Tropical Manicure's holo bar glitter to it. It doesn't have a name on it other than the number 55 on top of the cap.

I really did like DVD by itself, but I'm just a glitter junkie. I couldn't help myself! I didn't end up wearing this mani though. I wasn't too fond of the bar glitter overtop. Here are some picks:

Sally Hansen HD Nail Color: DVD

DVD is a great color. It's a sheer blue glass fleck that flashes purple. This is over Revlon TS Royal as a base. Royal is a wonderful base for layering colors, and this combo rocks!

You can see a hint of purple on the sides here in the shade:

This is under my Ikea lamp:

Sally Hansen Salon Effects #230 Skinny Jeans

I've worn these SH Salon Effects nail strips before, and I decided to give Skinny Jeans a try. The 1st ones I tried were easy as pie to apply and lasted about 5 days or so before I took them off. These were not as good as the previous box. You can see around the cuticle, I had a bit of a hard time getting them to look perfect, and these had tip wear in a day.

Enlarge pick to see details, especially around cuticle:

Now with my 1st pair, I used both foil packs and with this one I cut them in half so I could get 2 mani's out of it. I'm still willing to give them a try, I have the cute pink camo and leopard ones that I haven't tried yet.

Anyone else have good/bad experiences with them?

Essie Going Incognito

I picked up a few Essies from Ulta when they had their buy 2 get 1 free sale, and Going Incognito is one of the colors I chose. GI is a nice green leaning towards teal cream color. I didn't have any problems with the formula, this is only the 5th Essie I've ever worn. So far so good ♥

Zoya Penny

Sigh, last day of vacation is always a bit sad. So, to cheer me up, here is Penny. I really love oranges, this one makes me think of fall and pumpkins....

Maybelline Express Finish: Glass Slipper

Ah, another white mani today. This previously untried Maybelline is called Glass Slipper. It's a white cream with a bit of glass fleck, and it's pretty opaque too. I really do like these old Maybellines.

Night Lights layered mani

I love layered mani's, and this one might be one of my favorites. I started off with Loreal Star Magnet in Grey, but since I didn't like how the star pattern turned out, I decided to layer Sally Hansen Night Lights overtop. NL is a sheer grey jelly base packed full of multi colored holo glitter. Both colors looked great together, but of course, I wasn't done yet. Really, I just never know when to stop and most of the time I ruin a great mani because of it, but this time, I lucked out. I added a layer of my BF Shmoopy's flakie franken overtop and it was perfection!

The flakies in the franken are multi colored, and with the colored holo glitter, they go so well togehter! You gotta enlarge these picks!

Unfortunately, I do not have the recipe, the bottle was Colorama's Shimmer Girl. The base is now a light blue jelly.

Check out the closeup ♥♥♥ Glitters and flakies go so well together.

Maybelline Express Finish: Sunset Pink

Here's another old untried Maybelline, this is Sunset Pink. SP is a pale pink base with a touch of a glass fleck finish. Hmm, almost close to mannequin hands here! LOL. I don't usually go for pinks, but when I do, I like 'em light like this one.
