Sally Hansen Fire Opal: Goldspun Opal

I have another NOTD for you today. Goldspun Opal is an awesome duochrome, it flashes between green and purple.

This is one coat over Color Club black from the Bewitching collection.

and this last one is two coats:

Color Club Charmed I'm Sure

Today's color is Charmed I'm Sure from Color Club's Bewitching Halloween mini set:

I haven't tried any of the other colors or decals yet, but I did a quick swatch this morning; this is using an OTT light:

China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-y + SH Hidden Treasure

So, just cuz I never know when to stop, I decided to add a layer of Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure over my CG Ick-A-Bod-Y mani. The result is pretty nice actually. It has the whole fall leaves thing going on. And the HT doesn't compete with the orange glitter, so I think this is a win.

China Glaze Awakening

My Sally's finally got the China Glaze Awakening collection in this week! The SA had to get them out of the back. The awesome part is, that when she tried to use the $1 off 2 coupon it wouldn't ring up, so she gave me the 3rd polish for free ☺☺☺

These are three coats without top coat:

Sorry, today you only get swatches. I'm still sporting my ATU mani ♥ But I can't wait to try them. Ick-A-Body is so pretty, I adore orange glitters.

Lippmann Collection Across the Universe

Behold the beauty that is Across the Universe! WOW. This is everything I hoped it would be. The only other Lippmann I have is Ruby Red Slippers, so I had high hopes for ATU and I was not disappointed. Here are some bottle shots. Notice the mixture of blue and green teal glitter?

Here is one coat. ATU is a sheer black base with blue micro glitter and a mixture of blue and teal hex glitter:

And two coats (not topcoat)

This is seriously one of the prettiest polishes I own ♥♥♥

Halloween Nails - Candy Corn

I've wanted to do Candy Corn nails ever since I saw someone on MUA do them last year ☺ I used Cover Girl Boundless Color in Candy Corn (ha!), Wet n Wild White Creme and Avon Nailwear Pro in Sunshine; I used tape as the guides.

Halloween Nails - Spiders!

I went to the Christmas Tree Store today and found they stock Color Club polishes. So I picked up the striper called Black Hologram. I used that as the base and stamped images from Fauxnad plate P57 and Bundle Monster plate BM13.

Pumpkin Glitter; Bloom Mena + Orly Space Cadet

First, I wanted to say thank you to ChaosButterfly for nominating me for the The Sunshine Award. I really appreciate it!! Please visit her blog here.

I ended up picking up another Pumpkin glitter. It's the same as the blue one I showed you, but it's red. The label on it also says Chunky Nail. Here is the blue one overtop my last Halloween Mani:

Can you see how it's actually an ice blue color instead of the darker blue the 1st picture showed? I adore this color!

My current NOTD is Orly's Space Cadet, but I wanted to layer one coat over black. The black color I choose is Bloom Mena. This pick was taken next to a lamp, but see the awesome rainbow on the bottle?

Once on the nail though, you don't see the holo unless in direct sunlight. It applies like a dream though and is great for Konading. I added one layer of Orly's Space Cadet overtop:

Space Cadet is so pretty. It shows mostly purple and green on me. If you're on the fence about picking it up, I would recommend it! It applies beautifully and the color is amazing.

New Sally Hansen Extreme Wears

I got a fantastic deal on the new Sally Hansens today at Meijer. They were on sale BOGO 50% off plus I had four coupons. I ended up getting all four for under $4. I also picked up an awesome Pumpkin glitter. The bottom the the bottle says Chunky Nail? Don't know if that's a color name or if all of them had that on there. I didn't think to look.

Here is a pick of each:

So, here's the rundown:

Pumpkin glitter: This is an awesome blue micro glitter base with larger silver hex glitter. I adore this!
Cosmic Blue: A blurple color with sparse amounts of silver holo glitter and thread glitter.
Puple Fiesta: This is a dark reddish purple color and like Cosmic Blue, it has the holo and thread glitter.
Blue Icing: I love this one! It's an ice blue frost with the same glitters as above. Yeah, I love a frost :)
Mystic Lilac: A pale grayish purple color with an ice blue shimmer to it. It's a pretty unique color.

More Halloween Nails

Here are a couple of Halloween mani's. This 1st one is a water marble fail. I like the three nails shown, but I just couldn't get the look I was going for. The base color was orange and the swirls were black, green and purple.

This is today's NOTD. The base color is Wet and Wild in Eggplant Frost which is a purple color with a blue flash. The images are from Fauxnad plate P57 and then added a layer of Wet and Wild Hallucinate. This is my left hand:

and right hand:

I need to get more creative, huh?

Avon Nailware Pro polishes

Today I have a bunch of new Avon shades. This first one is called Deluxe Chocolate; a medium brown color with gold shimmer:

This is Tweed; a dark blackened burgundy jelly; very vampy:

Olive Green is the perfect chalkboard green color:

Cherry Jubilee is another jelly, a deep pinkish red:

Now this one is called Wicked and the color I was most excited for it. Unfortunately, it looks completely black unless in direct sunlight:

I may need to franken it to try and lighten it up a bit. The last color here is called Midnight Plum; which is a dark purple jelly:

Like Wicked, it also looks completely black except in direct sunlight, and even in sunlight it seems mostly black.

All in all, I liked the formula on these, just some of the colors where much darker than I expected. Usually, that's not a bad thing, but these are on the verge of black, which is a bit too dark for me.

Massini "Fall Promo Shade" + Nfu Oh 51

So last year Massini (aka Studio M) released dupes to Color Club's fall line calling each shade "Fall Promo Shade". This is the dupe to Wild at Heart, a vibrant purple holo color:

and with one coat of Nfu Oh 51:

Yikes! I had a nasty break today. I silk wrapped it, so I'm hoping I'll be able to grow out the break without cutting down to nubs. Wish me luck!!

Maybelline Blackened Teal + Revlon Galaxy

Since the sun was down when I finished my mani today, I decided to try using a lightbox when taking photos. The base color is Maybelline Express Finish in Blackened Teal (Dollar Tree) topped with Revlon glitter topcoat in Galaxy.

I think it's a pretty combo, but I think maybe I'll use a different base when using Galaxy it picked up the blue the glitter better. Make sure to click on each pick for a closeup ☺

This was one layer of Blackened Teal with one layer of Galaxy and one layer of Seche Vite.

Halloween Nails

So from now until Christmas is my favorite time of year. I adore fall and the Holidays coming up (especially Halloween), so I've decided to do a series of Halloween inspired mani's from now until October 31st. Here is my first.

The base color is Diamond Cosmetics in Mystical Knights. It's a beautiful dark blue color with a hint of a frost.

And I topped it with a recent Dollar Store find, Cover Girl Crackle polish in Jack O Lantern. I had previously swatched this on a popsicle stick, but this is the 1st time on the nail. What a freaking cool effect this is, it's so Halloween! I used two coats over the Mystical Knights. I love how the blue base kind of glows through the orange.

Please excuse the raindrop on my ring finger in this shot....

Glitter Gal: Red Holographic Polishes

Like many, my most coveted lemming has always been a true red holographic polish....red is my absolute favorite color and an actual red (not pink) holo polish has always alluded me. I can't tell you how many failed attempts I've made at frankening a red holo....not pretty!!! ha ha.

I recently heard about Glitter Gal polishes, and they had two red holo colors listed on their website, so I decided to give them a try. I got both colors, one called simply "Red" and the other "Not Another Red". I wanted to order both because I didn't want to take a chance of one not being the true red I've been looking for.

General observations about the polish: the most noticeable thing to mention is that the bottles are SMALL. I mean like small. Look at the comparison photo:

The colors in the bottle are beautiful, like put one in the sun and I'll get all distracted staring at it :) The next thing I feel I need to mention is the price. They are $10 each and shipping registered mail to the US cost another $20. So each of the TINY bottles ended up costing me $20 each....by far the most I've ever paid for polish up to this point.

I'll start with Not Another Red. The bottle color is a pinkish red color with a crazy pretty gold holo effect.

This is three coats by itself in shade. This is pretty true to the color, it's a pink holo, not a red.

The second color is called Red. The bottle color is a much richer red shade and the holo effect is more multi-colored. SO pretty in the sun :)

See that rainbow??? Nice! On the nail, it is a beautiful red, although I have to say it is a bit more pinkish in real life than the swatch shows:

This is simply amazing. So pretty!!!

Here are some comparisons. On the left is Not Another Red and the right is Red:

Shade:

Sunlight:

My conclusion:
I love them both, but Red is really where my heart is. I adore it. Not Another Red looks much better to me layered over a darker red color. I'd love to hear your opinions, especially if you're ever tried a Glitter Gal polish before.
